Both the picture Summer Morning by David Lucas and the song Hey Baby by Stephen Marley ft. Mos Def remind me of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and the journey both Huck and Jim embark on trying to find their own way to freedom. The picture reminds me of waking up in the morning and seeing the whole world in front of your eyes, not sure where to go, or how to get there. I imagine thats how Huck and Jim woke up every morning. Looking at foreign land not sure what was to come. The picture shows an open space which looks like total freedom, something that both Huck and Jim were searching for. They wanted a place where Huck could live on his own and how he wanted to and a place where Jim no longer had to be a slave and truly have his freedom.

When I found this picture I immediately thought of the song Hey Baby. The lyrics remind of Jim trying to "be free of his the chains" and find his own way in life even though he knew the "road is rocky". He left everything behind when he escaped but I imagine he must think of his family every day wishing that they were right beside him. The song mentions G-d and the signs he gives us, it seems like Jim has a strong religion influence on his life in which he believed all of the signs like the birds knowing when it was going to rain or about the rattlesnake. No matter how hard things got Jim continued from place to place trying to find a better life.
